An Interview with Enza Medispa’s aesthetician, Jordan:
What would you consider to be the #1 skincare mistake?
Piling on products! We are all guilty of this, including myself. A new product comes out, and you think “Oh, I have to have it!” So, instead of replacing one of your current products, you add it into your regimen. This can cause irritation and breakouts if you aren’t careful with what you’re putting onto your skin. Your daily skincare routine should consist of 3-6 products. For morning, I recommend a cleanser, toner, serum/treatment, and SPF, and for nighttime, use cleanser, toner, serum/treatment, moisturizer, and exfoliate with a masque or polish 2-3 times per week. I absolutely love Enza Essentials’ Saturation Aloe Scrub – it’s gentle and nourishing!
Any advice for aging skin?
Focus as much on what you put IN your body as on what you put ON your skin! The skin is the body’s largest organ, so younger skin starts from within. A well-balanced diet and monthly visits to your aesthetician should help fight against those signs of aging. Treatments like microdermabrasion, Pelleve, and Forever Young BBL are PERFECT for combating fine lines and wrinkles while smoothing and firming the skin over a period of time.
If you could pick just one, what is the most important skincare ingredient?
I recommend Vitamin C to almost all of my clients. This is my “BLT” product: Brighten, Lighten, and Tighten! Vitamin C is SO important for overall health, but it is also essential in the body’s production of collagen. This antioxidant neutralizes free radicals, protects against UVA and UVB rays, and stimulates collagen production for firmer and more youthful skin while improving elasticity and brightening uneven skin tone. Enza Essentials’ Vitamin C comes in an oil-free gel serum or an antioxidant-packed cream for extra skin protection.
What is a microdermabrasion?
A microdermabrasion or “microderm” is a mechanical resurfacing treatment that can help treat fine lines, skin tone and texture, acne, and so much more. The video below shows the treatment in action!
What is a chemical peel?
Like the name implies, the “peel” part of this treatment can be glycolic acid, lactic acid, Jessner, or other customized chemical peel treatments that help exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin. This is more topical than it is mechanical (like a microdermabrasion), but it is great for treating acne, aging, and an overall dull complexion. The video below explains more!
